Lucienne Tellier School Complex
Completed in 2025 in Anvaing, Belgium, the Lucienne Tellier School Complex is set within a rural environment. Echoing the character of its surroundings, the project is organised around three volumes unfolding like a chain of pavilions within a garden.
This layout establishes a clear hierarchy of uses and creates a sequence of distinct atmospheres, from the entrance path beneath the existing trees to the outdoor spaces opening onto the wider landscape. The hall forms the heart of the school, providing clear access to its different components: classrooms, vocational paramedical education facilities, administration, shared spaces and dining hall.
The fragmentation of the volumes allows each entity to operate autonomously while encouraging the shared use of certain spaces. Flexibility is also central to the project, with a structural organisation that allows classrooms and uses to evolve over time.
The materials : concrete, brick, wood and glazed stoneware, were selected for their architectural qualities, durability and performance. Inside, natural light, acoustic treatment, warm materials and colour contribute to the comfort and sense of ownership of the spaces.
Conceived as a durable and adaptable framework, the project places users, landscape and the well-being of pupils at the heart of the architecture.
